Bevar Palads Demonstration

Despite a record-breaking 3128 public hearing replies, mostly arguing for saving the famous Palads as it is, the decision by the city authorities was to approve a local plan that allows for major gutting of the building, in favour of the private owner.
The demonstration aims to shine light on what Palads means to the citizens, as well as what a dangerous precedent it may become, in case the project is to advance as it is planned.
Join us at the joint demonstration to save Palads!
On Saturday 5 September, residents, organisations, speakers and anyone who believes that Palads should remain a part of Copenhagen will gather for a large, peaceful demonstration.
Palads is more than just a building. It is one of the city’s most recognisable landmarks – a place with which generations of Copenhageners have formed a connection.
But Palads’ future is under threat. A new local plan has been adopted that will destroy the building as we know it, despite thousands of objections and widespread public opposition.
We’re coming together to show that the fight for Palads isn’t over and that many of us want a future in which the building’s unique architecture and history are preserved. The way we treat Palads is going to set a strong example of the direction for other buildings around us.
