A Parking Space for All

Diese Seite enthält keine deutsche Übersetzung.

PARKRAUM+ transforms a parking space into a small, green, non-commercial community space. Using a converted trailer, the project creates a temporary place for sitting, plants, conversations and exchange about the future of public street space. It invites neighbours and passers-by to imagine how urban space can be used more fairly, collectively and climate-consciously.

PARKRAUM+ explores a different use of public space. A converted trailer will be placed on a parking space for several days, transforming it into a small, green, non-commercial place to spend time.

Under the title “A Parking Space for All”, the action invites residents, passers-by and anyone interested to stop for a moment, take a seat and join the conversation. It raises simple but essential questions: Who does the street belong to? How much urban space is dedicated to cars — and how could this space be used differently? What do neighbourhoods need in order to become more climate-adapted, social and liveable?

Plants, seating and small conversation prompts create an accessible opportunity for exchange. The intervention is mobile, reversible and deliberately small in scale: it shows directly on site how a single parking space can temporarily become a place for encounter, greenery and collective reflection.

Participation is free, spontaneous and does not require registration. Everyone is invited to stop by, linger and share their perspectives on the future of public space.
