UNPLANNED URBAN DENSIFICATION

Many new housing units are being built in Marzahn-Hellersdorf. Infrastructure, local amenities, and green spaces must be taken into account as part of this development. However, the sheer number of construction projects is already placing a strain on our neighborhoods and changing the character of the city.

PLAN FIRST. BUILD SECOND.

Citizens’ initiatives from different parts of Marzahn-Hellersdorf have joined forces in the Forum für nachhaltige Stadtentwicklung. Everywhere, we see the same problem: construction projects are being planned and approved without involving the people who live there.

That is why we are calling for binding planning for the entire district, based on the needs of local residents and developed together with them through active participation and on an equal footing.
