Culture in joint areas
How can we work together to create spaces for culture and community in the Großharthau Castle Park? Bauwende Sachsen and the Großharthau Cultural Workshop invite you to a kickoff event to breathe new life into the half-timbered house as a new gathering place. At a roundtable discussion, we’ll gather ideas, stories, and memories from the community, while a look back and a vision for 2027 will show how culture brings people together.
How can we work together to create places for people to meet, as well as spaces for culture and the community, in the Großharthau Castle Park? With this event, we are launching a professionally guided, public, and community-oriented process to address this question. The focus is on the half-timbered house in the castle park, which could become a permanent gathering place. Bauwende Sachsen and the Kulturwerkstatt Großharthau are taking the first step to discuss this, explore ideas further, invite others, and involve both the community and local residents in a participatory manner.
The initiative is based on three areas:
Bauwende Sachsen is organizing a roundtable discussion to gather information about the existing structures in Großharthau: Who is already active in the town, and what stakeholders and initiatives already exist? What structures might be missing? We’re also inviting residents to share their memories, photos, and stories about the castle park and the half-timbered house. In this way, we aim to better understand the unique characteristics of the town and create a shared foundation for looking toward the future.
The Großharthau Cultural Workshop aims to bring the cultural activities in the park to life. A retrospective on past years and a vision for 2027 will be presented to link the plans for the construction project with the idea that “culture as a driving force” can serve as a unifying element.
Come by and help shape the future
