Construire l'Atlas de Démolition

Discover the Atlas de Démolition, a new participatory platform mapping demolition and threatened buildings in France at this roundtable and beta testing event. The Atlas is being developed by Collectif Orbit, and is a recipient of a FAIRE 2025 grant by the Pavillon de l'Arsenal.

How can we better document upcoming demolitions and make the potential for transforming existing buildings more visible?

The Atlas de Démolition is a digital participatory mapping platform that documents buildings that have been demolished or are threatened by demolition, neglect, or irreversible transformation. By bringing together public data, individual contributions, and visual narratives, the Atlas aims to create a living inventory of threatened architecture while encouraging users to engage critically with the topic of demolition and its alternatives. The project is led by Collectif Orbit and was awarded a FAIRE 2025 grant by the Pavillon de l'Arsenal.

As part of this roundtable aimed at architecture and city-making professionals, Collectif Orbit invites architects, urban planners, researchers, associations, and other stakeholders involved in the transformation of cities, territories, and the existing built environment to discover the platform and contribute to its development.

The session will provide an opportunity to explore and use the tool, share cases and data, submit contributions, and discuss the platform’s uses, needs, and limitations. Feedback from professionals will be essential to further develop the Atlas and shape a tool that closely reflects realities on the ground.

The working session will take place at Césure, a third place run by Plateau Urbain, and will be followed by drinks at the Cantine of Césure, offering an opportunity to continue the conversation informally.

Participants are encouraged to bring a computer or tablet to participate in the collaborative testing session.
