Housing for All! Community Knowledge Project Gosse 17

How do we document the knowledge and experiences created through collective struggle? How to make our struggles, movements, and histories accessible to a larger public? For European Action Week 2026! Hosted by @architects4future Hausprojekt Gosse 17 invites you to a presentation and conversation around our Community Knowledge Project, which is an ongoing attempt to document the history, practices, and social movements that have shaped our house project and the communities around it.

Together, we’ll explore why documenting our experiences matters! How archiving social movements can place local struggles within a larger political and historical context, and how reflecting on our own history has helped us learn, grow, and improve our community over time.

The two-hour event will include a presentation on community archiving practices, an exhibition tracing the development of the house project, and a booklet documenting 40 years of the self-administered house project (1981-2021). There will also be a cosy reading corner with literature from movements and communities we learn from.

Refreshments will be provided. The presentation will be held in English with German translation.
