Ubani — Tbilisi Cityscape Research Center

Ubani — Tbilisi Cityscape Research Center is a non-profit organisation dedicated to exploring Tbilisi’s architectural and urban environment. Through research, education, and public engagement, we aim to enrich the understanding and appreciation of the city’s built environment and unique urban landscape. 

Our mission is to create a comprehensive collection of knowledge, offering a new perspective on Tbilisi’s landscape, architecture, and urban development. We approach this both through artistic and scientific methods, exploring the city’s complex environment. It’s essential for us to make this knowledge accessible to a broad and diverse audience, including experts, professionals, enthusiasts, artists, scientists, and curious minds from around the world.

As of 2023, we have held five workshops, organised eleven events, and published two works. Our current active initiatives include research on the Old City, Digital Cartography and “Ezologia — Porous body of Tbilisi,” a project exploring Tbilisi’s porous urban morphology.
