Byverksted 🌴 is a bottom-up initiative for urban theory and practice, grown out of neighbourhood activism and Stavanger’s art community. Byverksted 🌴 employs diverse strategies in workshops, talks, action research, debates, walks, as well as a series of zines and other publications to intervene in the social fabric of the city, to question structures of power, and to inspire collaborative action. Byverksted 🌴 is a loose network of actors, non-profit oriented and based on voluntary work by participants.

Sirrah Hamann (they/she) is a recent graduate in Environmental Humanities from the Rachel Carson Center at LMU Munich. With Byverksted, they are currently working on a continuation of their MA thesis 'Weathering Coastlines: Elemental Unfixities in the Petroleumscape in Stavanger, Norway' which traced ongoing tensions around the city's former industrial areas from the 1970s until today across more-than-human temporalities, scales and agencies.
