BAUFACHFRAU Berlin e.V. is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 to empower women in skilled trades, technical professions and design-related fields. Today, the organization is a recognized educational institution under the Berlin Adult Education Act and was awarded UNESCO Learning Place status in 2019 for its commitment to Education for Sustainable Development.
BAUFACHFRAU Berlin e.V. develops and implements educational programs and workshops as part of education and employment promotion policies, career orientation and professional qualification, as well as Education for Sustainable Development (ESD). Key areas of focus include participation, empowerment, social transformation, gender equality, “learning through practice,” and sustainable, climate-conscious approaches to building and design.
BAUFACHFRAU Berlin e.V.’s carpentry workshop, founded in 1999, provides consulting, design and manufacturing services in the fields of interior construction and furniture making. As a recognized training company, it also provides vocational training in carpentry for FLINTA* individuals.
