ACAN Netherlands
Architect Climate Action Network Nederland (ACAN NL) is the Dutch chapter of an international network of individuals and organisations within architecture and related built environment professions, who are taking action to address the climate crisis, ecological breakdown and climate justice.
ACAN NL has three overarching aims: Decarbonise Now, Ecological Regeneration, and Cultural Transformation.
ACAN NL is involved in a range of actions that reflect its key values. These actions vary from educational initiatives, such as the Good Material Library and webinars, to more campaign-oriented actions, such as supporting the HouseEurope! Campaign. One of our more recent initiatives is the Dutch Sloopkaart (Demolition Map), an open-source, interactive map that allows anyone to document buildings that have been demolished, are threatened with demolition, or have been saved from demolition.
